Right to education and lifelong learning

The first theme chosen by the International Council for the World Assembly addresses the right to education and learning beyond 2015. The objective of the theme is:

  • to identify strategies for translating the global targets adopted at the World Education Forum, Korea and at the UN Summit on Sustainable Development in New York in 2015 into practical actions at the local level and to this end,  to determine the contribution of civil society organizations to ensure this right beyond 2015.
  • to identify strategies to protect the universal scope of adult literacy, as well as the role of civil society in the offer of services and in follow-up activities.
